Made me smile, I dont dislike athiests (Im agnostic myself) and I dont dislike religious people. What I dislike is one or the other telling the other they are wrong. So in my view its the jerk pushing their views on someone else who gets the shaft in this joke, which is a good thing. (Also Jonathan: while the work was done by another human, in the story it was done out of spite to prove there is no god, not out of the goodness of the neighbors heart)

Well even being an atheist I still find this funny. I do think it a little one sided though. Should have kept going to show the religious try to prove God or something by praying her neighbor got food or something only to not have anything come XD.

The tendency of the religious to thank a non-existent god for the work that was in fact performed by their fellow humans, is not funny. It is shameful. As is their stubborn clinging to superstition in the face of contrary evidence.
